Range of services
The Clinic for Trauma Surgery and Orthopaedics at the BG Trauma Clinic Ludwigshafen offers a wide range of trauma surgery and orthopaedic services - ranging from the treatment of arthrosis symptoms to complex reconstruction of joints from the shoulder to the foot.
Everybody is welcome to come to us
We treat patients after accidents in the workplace or road traffic accidents, after sports injuries and after accidents in the home, and we also offer treatments for a wide range of orthopaedic diseases. We can also offer many examinations and treatments (including operations) on an out-patient basis.
Our specialisms
Our clinic covers five main areas of specialism which match our core treatment areas. All of these areas use innovative examination and treatment methods, such as computer-assisted surgery and intraoperative 3D imaging.

Range of services available for private patients
We offer in-patient and out-patient treatments for all types of injury and conditions resulting from injuries to the musculoskeletal system as well as the treatment of degenerative changes to the musculoskeletal system.

Key focus: failed or delayed healing of bone fractures
We have specialised cross-functionally on the treatment of failed or delayed healing of bone fractures. As part of the treatment of failed or delayed healing of bone fractures, we apply the latest advancements in the field of molecular biology and use growth factors to improve the healing of bone fractures. We are also intensively involved at a scientific level in this "problem area" of traumatological surgery treatment. We can offer you a special consultation clinic "Consultation clinic for post-traumatic deformities and failed healing of fractures".
Out-patient emergency trauma unit with shock treatment/resuscitation room
This is where all freshly injured patients are treated, including severely injured persons (polytrauma patients).

The Clinic for Trauma Surgery and Orthopaedics runs numerous scientific projects, including experimental investigations of many traumatological/orthopaedic areas.
Student teaching
Our clinic takes part in the teaching of students at the University of Heidelberg in the specialist field of trauma surgery.
