Due to its Mediterranean climate, the Palatine region is often described as “Germany’s Tuscany” and is well known for its excellent wine and numerous wine festivals along the idyllic Wine Route. Every year, Bad Dürkheim plays host to the greatest wine festival in the world and this is also where you can visit the world’s largest wine barrel.
The beautiful Palatine Forest is best explored and discovered on foot. There is a wide choice of different hiking trails for beginners and the more experienced.
